How old are you?

Another use of" का -के -की ka-ke-ki is to give people's ages. It's used
with the word साल  sal m. 'year':

मनोज सोलह साईं का है .Manoj solah sal ka hai. Manoj is sixteen ('is of 16 years').
मीना दस साल की है .
Mina das sal ki hai. Meena is ten.
गीता कितने साल की है ?
Gita kitne sal ki hai? How old is Geeta?

राम कितने साल का है ?
Ram kitne sal ka hai? How old is Ram?
राम आठ साल का है ?
Ram ath sal ka hai. Ram is eight.
The word for 'age' is उम्र  umra (f.), often pronounced 'umar"
aapki kitni umra hai ? apki kitni umra hai? How old are you?

The word
कोई  koi 'any'
also means 'anyone' or 'someone' (and
कोई नहीं  koi nahin
means 'no one').
कोई koi
can also refer to inanimates, as
in
कोई  koi dukan 'some shop
(or other)'. Its oblique form is
किसी  kisi,
as in
किसी का बेटा  kisi ka
beta' someone' s son'.

Don't confuse
किसी  kisi
with
किस  kis,
which is the oblique of
कौन kaun
and of
क्या  kya:
किसको  kisko
'to whom/what?'
,किसका भाई kiska bhai
'whose brother?'

कोई है ?
koi hai? Anyone there?
घर में कोई नहीं है .
ghar men koi nahin hai. There's nobody in the house.
किसी के घर में कोई चूहा था.
kisi ke ghar men koi chuha rahta tha. In somebody's house there lived a certain mouse.

Here's a very useful little phrase:
कोई बात नहीं .
koi bat nahin. Never mind, it doesn't matter, don't mention it.

Used with a number, कोई koi means 'about', just as 'some' does in',English:

कोई बारह गाडियां
koi barah gadiyan. some twelve cars

As we've already seen,
कुछ  kuch
means 'some'
(कुछ पैसा  kuch paid'.
some money) or 'something'.
It doesn't change in the oblique.

क्या मेज़ पर कुछ है ?
kya mez par kuch hai? Is there something on the table?
हमको कुछ दूध चाहिए .
hamko kuch dudh chahie. We need some milk.
घर में कुछ नहीं है .
ghar men kuch nahin hai. There's nothing in the house.
