Linda: Good afternoon. We have a big problem. Our ratings are down. We need new ideas. We need good stories.
Carol: What's the problem? We always report good stories.
John: No. Not always.
Carol: Well, usually.
Linda: OK, Carol. Usually. But we sometimes look bad.
Susan: When?
John: How?
Linda: The problem is interviews. We always interview people on Thursday and Friday. And that's boring.
Carol: I have an idea. How about music?
Linda: OK. What's the story?
Carol: There's a rock concert on Saturday.
Linda: No. Our viewers don't like rock music.
Carol: Do you like fashion shows?
Linda: No, I don't. But our viewers like fashion. Women like fashion.
John: We need something important. People like important news, Linda.
Linda: People like new ideas, John. Jake?
Jake: I have an idea. The answer is weekends. What do people do on the weekend?
Linda: Hmm, a weekend report? That's interesting. People often think about the weekend on Thursday and Friday.
Susan: I like it.
Linda: But we need action.
Jake: Right. I have some ideas here. Look at these pictures.
Susan: You sure like sports!
Jake: Yes, I do. I like to play golf. I like to play tennis.
Linda: That's not a bad idea.
Jake: I like to skate. I like to run. Don't I look great?
John: Nice legs. I like your shorts, Jake.
Jake: How about Saturday night? What do people usually do on Saturday night?
I like to dance. Do you like to dance, Susan?
Susan: No, I don't. I never dance.  I usually stay home on Saturday night.
Jake: I always go out.
Linda: I don't like the Saturday night idea.
Susan: Do you like sports?
Linda: Yes. I like that idea.  People like to watch sports, especially men.
On Friday we do a weekend report on sports.
Jake: A great idea. "The Weekend Report with Jake Seltzer".
Linda: No, I want all of you to work on this. It's "The Weekend Report" with the WEFL news team.
Carol: What about Thursdays?
Linda: On Thursday we do fashion. I want some beautiful dresses. Maybe some hats.
Susan: What else?
Linda: I like stories about people. I like stories with action. I like good pictures.
Jake: Are we in the stories?
Linda: Sometimes. We need good stories, and we need them now!

John: You're right.
Susan: Oh.
John: What's the matter?
Susan: I have a headache.
John: You should take an aspirin. Don't look up, but I see Jake.
