He was the first president to receive over one million popular votes.
He delivered the longest inaugural address on March 4, 1841. It was an extremely cold day and Harrison did not wear a hat during the 105 minute speech. He contracted pneumonia and died in the White House one month later.
He was the first president to die in office, about 32 days after he was elected.
In 1840, his supporters pushed a huge paper ball covered with campaign slogans from city to city. They added a phrase to the language: "Keep the ball rolling."
