Introduction
Learning Hindi requires learning new sounds and new
symbols. Instead of having the 26 letters in English, you
are required to learn dozens of symbols in Hindi. Many
of these symbols look very similar to each other.
Sometimes we need a break from serious Hindi
studying. This is where the Hindi Word Find Puzzles
come in. Take a moment away from serious Hindi
study, just have fun, and train your brain to recognize
the Hindi letters

How to do it?
First, you need to understand how the Hindi Word Find
Puzzles work. Take a word and break it up into parts.
For example the Hindi word for “this” is यह. See this as
the combination of य and ह. Each of which would be
in its own box in the puzzle. But the formation could
appear in several ways: horizontal, vertical, diagonal,
and the reverse of these. Here are some examples:

would be broken into खा and ना. Each of these would
appear in adjacent boxes.
Each of the words is given in the following format:
Hindi (transliteration) – meaning (part of speech)
For example:
कब (kab) – when? (adv)

In the case of nouns, the part of speech (i.e. “n”) is
followed by a “m” or a “f” to indicate if it is masculine
(m) or feminine (f). This is a key attribute to remember
since the gender affects many things in Hindi grammar.
Here is an example:
रस (ras) – juice (n-m)
At the end of the book, you will find additional
information about pronunciation and an answer key.
Happy word finding!
