自学印地语4 ：有一些茶叶

जावेद :यह बाती राजू जी ,आप गोश्त खाते हैं?
राजू: जी हाँ ,कभी हभी खाते हूँ ,और आप ?
जव्र्फ़ :मैं भी खाते हूँ ,लेकिन शराब नहीं पिता.
राजू: आप शराब नहीं पिटे? मैं पिटे हूँ ,लेकिन बहुत कम.
जावेद : क्या गीता जी भी पोती हैं?
ताजु: जी नहीं ,वे नहीं पोती .

Javed: yah bataie Raju ji, ap gost khate hain ?
Raju: ji han, kabhi kabhi khata hun. aur aap?
Javed: main bhi khata hun. lekin Sharab nahin pita.
Raju: ap Sharab nahin pite? main pita hun, lekin bahut kam.
Javed:  kya Gita ji bhi piti haI?
Raju:  ji nahi, ve nam pitt

Javed Tell me this, Raju ji, do you eat meat?
Raju Yes, sometimes I do ['I eat']. And you?
Javed I do too. But I don't drink alcohol.
Raju You don't drink? I do, but very little.
Javed Does Geeta drink too?
Raju No, she doesn't drink.

वे नहीं पीती हैं ve nahin piti  hain becomes negative it can drop the auxiliary हैं  hain, leaving just वे नहीं पीती ve nam pitt
The nasal from the dropped हैं hain has been made homeless by this,so it jumps onto the participle tfTIIT piti! This only happens with the feminine plural, and only in this tense.

Now look back at the list of verbs in section 4.1 and make up sentences from as many as you can, with yourself as subject (e.g. ,

मैं हिन्दी बोलता हूँ  main hindi bolta hun). Then do the same with other subjects such as 'she' or 'they'. Be sure to say your sentences out loud, with conviction; this will help you get used to this very important tense.

Translate, using first  तुम tum commands and then आप ap commands:
1 Don't drink alcohol in the house.
2 Listen carefully.
3 Send this letter to Manoj.
4 Go home.
5 Tell me his name.

6 Eat these two samosas.
7 Play the sitar.

9 Give this money to my wife.
10 Don't drive the car today.
