The consonants are pronounced like they are in English, but there are a few that have a dot under them that should be explained more thoroughly.
The retroflexive consonants have a dot under them.
“त ” is different than “t”. The “त ” is pronounced with the tongue touching behind the ridge of the mouth. “t” (without the dot) is pronounced with the tongue touching behind the teeth.
