Following my sceptical column last week about the supposed health benefits of organic food, Jack Romanski, who lives on the splendidly named Grizzly Peak Boulevard in Berkeley, California, wrote the following letter to the editor: “I’m 56 now. My wife and I went organic in 1971. She looks as good now as she did then. I have all my hair and it’s not grey. Forgive me for noticing that Mr Skapinker’s picture shows a bit more ageing than I display.”
