Connecticut School of Broadcasting provides hands-on training in a "learn by doing" environment.
Classes are taught by broadcast professionals in facilities designed to meet the ever-expanding technological needs of today's student. Whether it is digital audio, television editing, broadcast performance, studio operations, streaming media or any one of the many other facets of the communication industry, students are in the studios working with instructors and getting the most out of a broadcast education.
Connecticut School of Broadcasting's digital audio work stations consist of many digital audio programs like, Cool Edit Pro (now Adobe Audition), Saw Plus, Vegas, Pro Tools and Sound Forge. The studio is digital throughout with compact disc players, Minidisc, hard disc recorders and CDRs. Analog Cart machines, Cassette and Reel to Reel decks serve to enhance production values.
Our television studio consists of a digital switcher, title maker, two cameras, audio mixing console, lights, record and playback decks and teleprompters. Live switching and edit applications can be achieved from this user friendly system. The edit bays consist of both straight cut linear editing and non-linear editing using Avid and/or Adobe Premier. Adobe Photoshop and other graphic programs are also available to students for advanced video productions.
The Wellesley Hills location also consists of three simulated radio broadcast studios. Each studio has State of the Art Broadcast mixing consoles, two compact disc players, two cart machines, reel to reel and multi-track machines, cassette players and minidisc players. Each studio is open to students and graduates after school hours.
